Our Mission

Mission

The BINA experience encourages our students to develop their love for Hashem, His Torah, and the Jewish people. In partnership with the parents, BINA enables each student to actualize her potential in a supportive and challenging academic environment. A BINA student is taught to be proud of her heritage, involved in her community, and prepared for her future.

Our History

History

In 2006, the growing families of Norfolk, VA faced the decision of moving or sending their daughters away for high school. A few dedicated, pioneering families joined together and decided to start a new school. BINA High School was founded in 2006 so that our local community could have a stellar Judaic and general studies education while keeping our daughters home with their families. In September of 2007, we opened our doors to a student body of six local students and six boarding students from around the country. As the first and only Orthodox Jewish High School in Tidewater, we are proud to say that we have fulfilled and exceeded our hopes and dreams for our school. Twenty years later, BINA is educating our students with a full-fledged Bais Yaakov education.

Chessed

BINA's Chesed program is dedicated to promoting acts of kindness to the Jewish community in Norfolk. Our students help local families prepare for Shabbos either by watching their children on Thursday afternoon or helping with cooking. They also visit the local nursing home. The student-led chesed committee encourages our students to help with community events, reaching out to lonely community members, and looking to assist wherever there is a need.
